If you reported a change in your health you will be informed on whether this will affect your benefit. If we think the change means that you can work more or fewer hours, we will reevaluate your situation.

We may invite you for an interview with an UWV occupational health nurse (‘sociaal medisch verpleegkundige van UWV’) or an occupational disability employment counsellor ('arbeidsdeskundige'). You have the right to bring someone with you to the interview and evaluation.

You can expect the UWV physician ('verzekeringsarts') to ask you questions about your physical and mental health. This will help them understand how your health issues are affecting your ability to work. You might also need to have a physical check-up as part of the evaluation.

If the UWV physician thinks you can work, you will have an interview with an occupational disability employment counsellor. The counsellor will look at the type of work you can do based on your education, your work experience and your capacity for work as assessed by the UWV physician.

You will receive a report of the interview by post covering everything that was discussed during the evaluation.

If we find that you can work more or fewer hours, this may affect the level of your benefit and its duration. The reevaluation helps us determine whether your benefit will remain the same, increase, decrease or stop.

In some cases, we may need to adjust your return-to-work plan ('re-integratietraject'). After the reevaluation, you will receive a decision from us. If you disagree with the decision taken, you have a right to file an objection.
