Reporting a change in your health on an occupational disability benefit

You must inform us of any changes in your health if you are receiving an occupational disability benefit. This is important as a change in your health could affect your ability to work and therefore your benefit. Make sure you inform us of such a change within 1 week of that change occurring.

To inform us of a change in your health, use the ‘Report a change in your health’ form that corresponds to the specific benefit you are receiving:

You will need either a DigiD account or a valid European electronic ID (‘Europees erkend inlogmiddel’) to do this.

The types of situations in which you should inform us of a change in your health include:

  • if your health has improved or worsened
  • if you have been admitted to a hospital, nursing home or other healthcare facility

Please note: If your health improves or worsens, we will need to re-assess your situation to see whether any changes need to be made to the benefit you are receiving.

If you are living abroad and need to report a change in your health, use the same benefit-specific forms that you would in the Netherlands (see the section above ‘How to inform us of changes in your health’).
