To qualify for an Access to work statement, at least 1 of the following must apply to you:
- You are an older employee (56 years or older).
- You have an occupational disability and will be starting a new job.
- You have an occupational disability and will be taking on a new alternative role with your current employer.
- You belong to 1 of the groups covered by the Access to work programme (‘banenafspraak’) or have had difficulty getting an education.
Please note: Interns who meet these criteria might be able to get an Access to work statement if their employer is deducting payroll tax from their wages.
To apply, complete the Application form for an ‘Access to Work’ statement for financial support (‘doelgroepverklaring LKV’). You will need a DigiD account to do this.
Keep in mind that if you are receiving a benefit from the municipality and are 56 years or older, you will need to apply for an Access to work statement via your municipality.
Please note: You will not be able to use this online form if you have received benefits in another EU/EEA country or Switzerland. Instead, you will need to contact us so that we can send you the form.
You should apply for an Access to work statement within 3 months of starting your new job or taking on an alternative role. You will not be able to get an Access to work statement unless you apply on time. Keep in mind your employer will not be able to get financial support without this statement.
We will confirm we have received your application within 2 weeks of you sending it. It can take up to 13 weeks before you receive a decision about your application.
If you qualify for an Access to work statement, give your employer a copy of this statement as soon as you have it. Or, if you would like us to send your employer a copy, let us know by ticking the designated box on the form.
If you want to authorise someone to apply for an Access to work statement on your behalf, download the Authorisation form for an ‘Access to work’ statement (‘Machtigen aanvraag doelgroepregister LKV’).
