To arrange a work permit for your potential worker, complete the Work permit application form (‘Aanvragen tewerkstellingsvergunning’). You will be able to access this form by logging onto the employer portal with your EH3 level eHerkenning account.

You will also need to use this form for work permits that need to be renewed or changed. For example, if a permit is about to expire or if your worker will be doing very different work to what their current permit allows.

Please note: Make sure you have your Chamber of Commerce number (‘KVK-nummer’) close to hand when completing the form.

It is likely that you will need to enclose additional documents when submitting your application form. The documents that will be required will vary depending on your worker’s specific situation. To identify which documents you will need to include, click on the category that closely matches your worker’s situation (in Dutch).

The EU has imposed sanctions on Russia due to the war in the Ukraine. These sanctions are targeting Russian and Belarusian companies. This means it is illegal to do business with these companies. You will therefore find questions on the application form asking you whether your employee will be working for a Russian or Belarusian company.

You can expect a decision on your application within 5 weeks of us receiving your form. If your employee is eligible for a work permit, it will be issued to you via the employer portal. Check the permit carefully to ensure all the information on it is correct. If you do spot any errors, please submit a request for a correction to the following address:

If your employee’s work ends before their work permit expires, inform us of this immediately. Send a letter to the address specified in the section above and tell us why the work ended and the exact date on which it stopped.
