UWV holds a great deal of data in all kinds of areas. We want to put it to better use to improve our service provision. We have described how we want to shape this data-driven working in a roadmap for the period through 2025. The Data Ethics Compass describes the principles we apply in the use of data and the development of algorithms. We want to prevent people or groups from being unintentionally disadvantaged or favoured. Our algorithm register, an independent Data Ethics Committee, and the UWV Data Academy ensure we continue to handle data in a smart and responsible way.
We believe it is important to treat everyone with respect and that no distinction is made on the grounds of cultural, ethnic, or religious background, age, sex, sexual orientation, education level, or occupational disability. The UWV does not tolerate discrimination or other undesirable behaviour. Internally, we discuss in detail how we can prevent this. Agreements in this regard are documented in the UWV Code of Conduct, to which all employees must adhere. We make it easy for our clients to raise the issue of discrimination so we can take action quickly. The UWV publishes an Annual Integrity Report to demonstrate transparency in respect of integrity.
We engage in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by making a sustainable contribution with our employees, clients and partners. In terms of both the role of service provider, as well as employer, manager and client.
