Welcome to the Workers Insurance Authority (UWV)

1 oktober 2008

Do you work in the Netherlands, or are you intending to come and work here? If so, it is important that you know what will happen if you become ill, unable to work or lose your job. Where are you insured? In the Netherlands or in your country of origin? Where should you report? What is the role of your employer? Where can you take your questions? UWV can help you.

From the end of 2008 onwards, this is where you will find answers to your questions. The information is aimed at people from Europe, from contracting or non-contracting countries.

What does UWV do?

UWV is responsible for benefit payments. For example, if you become ill, unable to work or unemployed. This includes employees from abroad working in the Netherlands. UWV will mediate and provide information.
